Source (google.com.pk)Nithya Menon is a very popular South Indian actress, she made her debut in Malayalam cinema with K.P.Kumaran's "Akasha Gopuram" She was cast opposite superstar Mohanlal in the film but the film got mixed reviews and was a financial failure. Even though the film was a box office disaster, her role in the film gained her positive reviews and appreciation. Some of her earlier films like Vellathooval and Seven O' Clock (kannada) where flops and her acting in these films went unnoticed.
She started her film career when she was a child, her first film was ''The Monkey Who Knew Too Much''. She was 9 years old when she acted in the film. Nithya won the best supporting actress award for her role in the Kannada film 'josh' in 2009. Her role in Renjith's "Kerala cafe" was much appreciated by film critics and movie goers alike. Nithya's acting in Kerala cafe kick started her movie career. After "Kerela cafe" she acted in Angel john, Apoorvaragam, Anwar.
It was her role in 'Urumi' that really caught the eyes of the audience. She played the role of princess 'Chirakkal Bala' in the film opposite Tamil actor and director Prabhu Deva. This role earned her a place in Malayalam cinema industry.
Nithya's role in 'Ustad Hotel' and 'Bachelor Party' gave her a new image of a modern Malayalam heroine. In the film Ustad hotel she plays the love interest of 'Dulquar Salman' who is a popular Malayalam hero and the son of super star Mammootty, the name of her character in the film is Shahana. 'Ustad Hotel' was a huge commercial success in the box office. In 'Bachelor Patry' she was cast opposite young rising star Asif Ali, In the film she plays Asif's wife 'Neethu'. Bachelor party directed and produced by Amal Neerad was also a huge commercial success and Nithya Menon's acting in the film won her many fans in South India.
